Frequently asked questions
What's the difference between VoIP lines and traditional phone lines? +
Traditional (POTS/analog) lines use copper pairs and work if internet is down. VoIP uses broadband and is cheaper but requires reliable internet and UPS backup. We wire infrastructure for both; your phone carrier chooses the technology.
Do you handle PBX or phone system installation? +
We wire the infrastructure (runs, demarcs, equipment closets). Phone vendor installs and configures the PBX/VoIP system. We coordinate with them, verify line terminations, and troubleshoot wiring issues. Phone systems are their domain; we enable the foundation.
What's a demarcation point and why does it matter? +
The demarc is where the carrier's responsibility ends and yours begins. We extend demarc to equipment closets (demarc extension), then run internal lines. This protects you from carrier liability for internal wiring problems and lets you manage your own moves/adds/changes.
