Frequently asked questions
How many recessed lights do I need in my kitchen? +
It depends on ceiling height, cabinet layout, and countertop size. Generally, 4-inch cans every 4–6 feet works well. We do a free walk-through, suggest spacing and dimmer zones, and quote fixture-by-fixture so there are no surprises.
Can I replace recessed lights without opening drywall? +
Yes, if the existing cans are in good shape. We simply unclip the old trim kit and install new LED or halogen rings. No drywall damage. If cans need moving, we do plan the path through joists to minimize patching.
What's the difference between retrofit and new construction cans? +
New construction cans need framing support from above. Retrofit (IC-rated) cans fit in ceiling cavities without joists. For most finished homes, retrofit cans are standard. We confirm your ceiling type during the estimate.
